One advantage of a tonneau cover over a hard lid is it's flexibility meaning if whatever you're hauling in the tray protrudes above the sides of your utility, the cover can still be stretched over the top to secure the load. In addition, a tonneau cover can be easily removed & folded away for storage. You can even keep it in your cabin or in a box in the back if you have room so it's always available when you need it most.
